3 Day Portland to Bend Van Trip Itinerary

The best trips are one’s that you never stop moving. Where there is adventure in both the destination and the journey. If you’re looking for a weekend out of the weirdness of Portland, Bend is the place to be. Here’s what I did with a few buddies, or turn off at the hundred other campgrounds and dirt roads along the way to create your adventure!

Road trip in a cmapervan through OregonFriday

4:00pm – I-5 south

5:15pm – Highway 22 exit for Detroit Lake/Bend

7:30pm – Beers and dinner at 10 Barrel Brewery

9:00pm – Arrive at Cascade Lakes/Elk Lake campground

9:01pm – Camp made drink another beer; try to start fire

Saturday

6:00am – Wakeup take picture of the Sunrise over Bachelor

6:30am – Coffee and breakfast

7:00am – Packed up and on the road

7:30am – Arrive at Phil’s complex – hundreds of acres of mountain biking trails

8:00am – Ride hard

1:00pm – Bikes on the back and ready to get moving

1:30pm – Session beer at Crux Brewery

2:30pm – Rent a board and suit; hit up the new wake maker on the Deschutes

4:30pm – Take aching body to Deschutes brewery for much needed recovery beer

5:00pm – Drive north to Lost Lake

8:00pm – Set up camp; dinner time

Sunday

6:00am – Sunrise coffee

7:00am – Hike around the lake

9:30am – Brunch

10:30am – Head to hood river

11:30am – Paddleboard on the Columbia

12:30pm – Lunch

1:30pm – Double Mountian Brewery for session beers

2:30pm – I-84 back to Portland

3:00pm – Check out Multnomah Falls, never gets old

4:00pm – Drop off van
